Halloween reboot coming in 2018!

Some big news broke a little while ago, from the mouth of John Carpenter himself, on facebook. We now know the director, who will write the script, and have release date for the next Halloween reboot!

John Carpenter – The Master of Horror

So you say you want a Revolution?
You want to shake things up and bring back Halloween and make it rock again?

Well so do I.

So here’s the announcement you’ve all been waiting for:

David Gordon Green and Danny McBride are joining the project to complete the creative team. David and Danny will write the script together and David will direct. I will continue in my executive producer role to consult and offer my advice and feedback as needed.

David and Danny both came to my office recently with Jason Blum and shared their vision for the new movie and…WOW. They get it. I think you’re gonna dig it. They blew me away.

I might even do the music. Maybe. It could be kind of cool.

And you’ll get to see it in theaters on October 19th, 2018.

Does this news send you over the moon, or are you skeptical about the choices for writer and director? Let us know here or on twitter, and facebook!

I’m just your average college student who spends too much time watching movies, but I have a good excuse! I want to make my own movies someday, so really it’s like I’m studying, right? Every October, if there was a Halloween movie airing, then it was on our tv, and those didn’t terrify me. I never saw any of the Halloween films in full until later, though. The first full horror movie I watched was Jeepers Creepers when I was around 10, and the first one I watched alone was the Prom Night remake. From then on out, I didn’t stop watching them. Movies about ghosts/demons and aliens are what scare me most. Probably more so the latter. That alien segment in V/H/S 2 ,and Dark Skies are scary as hell man.
