I did have the chance to review the Sleeper. I loved the movie and would love to see a Sleeper 2! So if you need help on making a decision on whether or not to take the plunge on this one, click here to read the review I wrote for the Sleeper. But to save a click and some time, the Sleeper is one of the Indie Horror films that may have gotten lost over the years and Scream Team Releasing is bringing it back for all of us.
Scream Team Releasing (the distributors of The Barn and 10/31) is proud to announce the newest addition to the label…’The Sleeper’. A retro throwback directed by Justin Russell that pays homage to the early slasher films of the 80s’ such as Black Christmas, Prom Night, The House on Sorority Row and Girls Nite Out.
Originally released for purchase on DVD and VHS back in 2013, ‘The Sleeper’ gained a cult following throughout the indie scene but eventually went out of print. The Scream Team is happy to say that after many years of slumber ‘The Sleeper’ is now awake and ready to make some calls! Re-issued and now upgraded to HD as a brand new 2 Disc Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack . Packed with bonus features including an hour long making of featurette, and reversible case artwork. If you purchased the DVD years ago, don’t worry about having a duplicate copy, because the new DVD is a alternate version known as “The Lost VHS Transfer”
Synopsis: It’s 1981 and the girls of Alpha Gamma Theta sorority are having a party. Amy, sick of living in the dorms, invites her roommate Ava to attend the party with her in hopes that they’ll both become Thetas. As the girls arrive, so does an uninvited guest watching them in the shadows. Amy’s choice quickly becomes a nightmare as the Theta girls begin to disappear one by one. Announcing his victims, the killer calls the house whispering the next to die. The police hunt for the missing girls and the killer, but will they find him in time? Or will all the girls sleep for good?
