Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers. C.H.U.D. An acronym that would change the horror world forever. Ok, maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration, but at any rate the 1984’s unofficial Home Alone prequel, C.H.U.D., has remained a fan favorite that has stood the test of time. In the original movie, starring John Heard and Daniel Stern, humanoid cannibals living under the streets of New York City are attacking and eating homeless. There has also been a much maligned sequel, C.H.U.D. II: Bud the C.H.U.D.
Fans of the original flick who want to take another trip into the C.H.U.D. universe are in luck! On April 27th the folks at Crystal Lake Publishing will be releasing C.H.U.D. Lives!: A Tribute Anthology. Available in paperback and kindle format, C.H.U.D. Lives! will include stories from a lengthy list of today’s best horror and science fiction fiction writers in an effort to pay tribute to the 1984 cult classic. From the official press release:
C.H.U.D. is a genre defying, cult classic film featuring monsters living in the sewers below New York. The stories in this anthology expand the world created by the film and add depth to the C.H.U.D. universe like never before.
