This year marks the 30th anniversary of the original Child’s Play film, and it would appear as if the series is going on as strong as ever. With seven feature films behind them, series mainstays Don Mancini and David Kirschner are developing a television series surrounding the pint sized slasher.
Back in February, the good folks at Bloody-Disgusting broke the news that Mancini and Kirschner were in the process of bringing Chucky to the small screen, and it would appear that Mancini himself officially confirms that the series IS happening with a tweet:

Mancini told Bloody-Disgusting that the series was “deliberately set up at end of the last movie,” and that it’s “tone is dark and disturbing.”
“We plan to use Child’s Play in the title,” Mancini explained. “We want to definitely signal that we are going dark, darker than ever before. It’s going to be very creepy.”
He also confirmed that the legendary Brad Dourif will once again reprise his role as the voice of Chucky in the series.
I for one am looking forward to this series. I’m a huge fan of the franchise as a whole, including some of the lesser liked sequels, and am very excited that we will get an 8 part, hour long Child’s Play series that is dark and brutal.
