This all started a few weeks back while browsing through my feed on facebook. I noticed that one of my indie film friends, Anthony Cooney (Director of Leaf Blower Massacre 2, Leaf Blower Massacre) received an extremely personal review on one of the film festival submissions LBM2 (Leaf Blower Massacre 2) was submitted for. The letter called LBM2 a garbage movie and basically had no right entering a film festival dedicated to low shoe-string budget indie-film makers. I reached out to Anthony Cooney to do a proper review on Leaf Blower Massacre 2. A few weeks later I received a package with Leaf Blower Massacre 2, a handful of buttons, a short movie ” Dirty Sanchez” which was also directed by Cooney and some business cards. Last night, I watched Leaf Blower Massacre 2 and here is what I have to say.
Leaf Blower Massacre 2, ok, first off right from the start the audience should be extremely aware that out of 99.9% of heavy duty tools for landscaping purposes that a fucking leaf blower is the most non-lethal tool when it comes to outdoor landscaping. Lets look for ways a leaf blower can kill you:
- Drinking the oil/gas mix straight from the leaf blower
- Swan diving off a roof while holding the leaf blower
- Ingesting fumes from leaf blower
- Walking into oncoming traffic holding a leaf blower
- Having someone beat you to death with a leaf blower
- Ingesting cyanide in the presence of a leaf blower
- Sodomy with a leaf blower
- Setting a leaf blower on fire and laying on top of leaf blower
- Tying the pull cord of leaf blower your neck and creatively try to hang yourself
- Drop an entire shipping crate of leaf blowers on to yourself or enemy Lethal Weapon 2 style
Now, when a movie such as Leaf Blower Massacre 2 buzzes around the internet, you should automatically know what kind of movie Leaf Blower Massacre 2 is. That being said, Leaf Blower Massacre 2 begins with a murder (I am guessing some continuity from Cooney’s first short film Leaf Blower Massacre).
“When Autumn Arrives… No One Survives”
–After find out about the brutal murder of his fiance, Shavar seeks revenge against a masked killer with a penchant for yard work weaponry. While a veteran detective and his rookie partner also find themselves drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse, Fall will be the season of fear.—-
Set in an Urban environment, Shavar (played by Shavar D Clark, is a college professor who reflects on the murders from the first movie, is trying to get by in life with the burden of his fiance’s death and his students being insubordinate. Meanwhile, two detectives Randy and Stew (Michael Schmid and Tommy Nowicki) believe that Shavar is responsible for the ongoing murders which causes of death have been pointing to said Leaf Blower. With special appearance by Ari Lehman (Friday the 13th)
Leaf Blower Massacre 2 is definitely small budget when it comes to sounds, shots and special fx but what works is the technique. Leaf Blower Massacre 2 is not a bad movie by any means. Leaf Blower Massacre 2 is what you get when you want to make a movie, self fund it and bring it to life. That fact that Leaf Blower Massacre 2 is complete already lives in infamy. With a death metal soundtrack, topless women, gore, and leaf blowers, Leaf Blower Massacre 2 is a movie that deserves to be watched by a group of drunk friends on a friday night who have nothing but judgmental things to say about a movie that they have nothing but respect for. Hell, I would love to be part of a midnight showing of Leaf Blower Massacre 2 in a theater full of die-hard-horror-movie fans holding leaf blowers, get wasted and cheer for all of the wacky leaf blower related death scenes.
