SDCC: American Horror Story Season 7

Prior to this weekend we knew very little about the seventh season of American Horror Story. Showrunner, Ryan Murphy had previously stated that it would revolve around the 2016 election, and has revealed several clues about this season on social media, such as creepy concept art, along with announcements of new cast members, Colton Haynes, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, and Leslie Grossman. We also knew that Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Cheyenne Jackson, and Adina Porter would be returning. Also, said to be returning is the character Twisty the clown from season 4 of American Horror Story, Freak Show.

Thanks to San Diego Comic Con, we now know even more about the upcoming season of American Horror Story. The official title has been revealed as “American Horror Story: Cult”, with a premiere date of September 5th. SDCC also gave us a pretty creepy teaser of the season, that appears to show us that the titular cult is made up of clowns. Id this how Twisty comes in?

At the end of the trailer it shows the address of a website, AHS7.com , where you can “join the cult” by linking your facebook account, to get exclusive teasers through messenger.

The title, premiere date, and trailer aren’t the only new information we have about this season. Once again, Ryan Murphy revealed several details through social media. We learned that this season will take place in Michigan, Lena Dunham, Mare Winningham, and Frances Conroy are a part of the cast, Sarah Paulson’s character’s name is Ally, and Evan Peter’s character’s name is Kai, that we will get eleven episodes this time around, and in those eleven episodes we will see more Evan Peters than we have in any previous season. Murphy also posted a drawing of Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters’s characters on his instagram.

Graduate from Oregon State University, with a Bachelor's of Science in Liberal Studies, a self made degree plan, that focused on media, writing, film, and women, gender and sexuality studies, aptly titled "Writing for and about film with a feminist perspective". I inherited my love of halloween and horror movies from my mom. My favorite horror movie is Scream, which is highly ironic considering I was deathly afraid of Ghostface, who I had very vivid nightmares about that I still remember perfectly, as a child. Some of my other favorites are Hereditary, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Beetlejuice, The Shining, The Conjuring, and much more! Even though I’ve pretty much been a life long fan of horror I still have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to the classics, ergo my Millennial Morgan Plays Catch Up reviews, which I plan to bring back soon. My passion project for the site is our digital zine, called Fright Like A Girl that's all about women in horror, made by women who love horror! In my free time, besides writing for the site, and working on my dream of becoming an actress and film maker, I enjoy making youtube videos (MJ Sawan on youtube), playing video games, going to conventions like Texas Frightmare, and Horror Hound, and cosplaying! I've cosplayed as Nancy Thompson from A Nightmare On Elm Street, Ripley from Aliens, and more. You can follow me on twitter, @frightlikeagirl, where I tweet A LOT about movies of all types, and the people in them.
