Trailer: Nightmare Cinema (2019)

With not just one but five masters of horror taking turns in the director’s chair, the upcoming anthology film Nightmare Cinema promises to deliver the gory goods in a big way.

Synopsis:

Five strangers converge at a haunted movie theater owned by The Projectionist (Mickey Rourke). Once inside, the audience members witness a series of screenings that shows them their deepest fears and darkest secrets over five tales.

2019 has already been a big year for horror, with plenty more on the way, and this movie was kind of dropped in our laps as a happy surprise. Nightmare Cinema has already made the film festival rounds where it seems to have been well received. The trailers don’t give too much away in terms of plot, but they certainly have gotten my attention. Mickey Rourke is well-suited to take on a role akin to that of the Cryptkeeper or Rod Serling, I’ve always found him to be slightly off-putting.

The film is co-directed by Mick Garris (The Stand), David Slade (30 Days of Night), Joe Dante (Gremlins), Ryuhei Kitamura (Versus), and Alejandro Brugues (Juan of the Dead).

Nightmare Cinema will be available in theaters and On Demand on June 21, 2019
