Not the best film of the series or any series for that matter. I like it, but hey I am the same guy who hates the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and like the prequel to that, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. The film serves as both a sequel and a reboot to the other two movies, as the original Sawyer family and apparently Leatherface died in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. But in horror movies, anything goes and TCM III, works as kind of a reboot anyway, right?
The saw is family. That was a great line from the first film, turned out to be the tagline for this film. To me it is kind of catchy. I watch these films sometimes and wonder, wow this family is huge and is everyone messed up? Seems to be, but that is ok because it makes for entertaining films. This is the third installment of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series and it is a little strange. I mean more than usual. Let me explain.
First of all, I thought Dennis Hopper and his arsenal of chainsaws in the second movies was nuts…Check out the image above and this long ass chainsaw blade…hmmm.
The movie is very bizarre and has a few familiar faces like a young Viggo Mortenson and not everyone knows Ken Foree, but you would remember him from Dawn of the Dead and Devils Rejects, oh and the Halloween crap remake. Also in some of the stunt work scenes, Kane Hodder plays Leatherface, Kane Hodder is know for playing Jason Voorhees in a few Friday the 13th films. I should not have to explain who Kane Hodder is to this group.

Same thing as all the others, right well a couple of people are traveling through Texas and they run into the Sawyer family along with that lovable ox, Leatherface. Ken Foree is in this film, which for me, gives the movie some cool points, he is great. He really was an underrated actor and still is to this day. Foree gets to have a show down with the Leatherface, but does meet his demise or does he, it looks like he dies, but we see him at the end. Ken Foree is a badass, so I bet he survives.
I do not want to go on about this, it is actually a pretty good film. The thing I don’t like about it, it doesn’t really fit, but neither does the next film. With the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series I guess you do not need continuity. If I were you I would check it out if you can, it is entertaining and really messed up. If I ranked the films, this would in fact be the third best of the series, it is different but the same and that is ok. Check it out. Also look for the trailer, it is very “King Arthur”
