Horror news today says David Goyer, writer for the Dark Knight is working on a new Hellraiser reboot. Before we get in to that, it may sound good but, I do have my worries….Why? I do not trust David Goyer. Being a lifelong Batman fan, reader of the comics and so many viewings of movies and cartoons of different kind. I was not and still to this day do not like what he did with Batman. But, on the other hand, it had a lot to do with the direction as most movies do. Also, Goyer did write Blade and Blade II, so that is a good sign.
Now, what is being reported Goyer has teamed with Spyglass Media Group to re-imagine Clive Barker’s story. Now, does that mean, the story the Hellobound Heart or the 1987 film, Hellraiser? Goyer is writing and producing the film and as far as we can tell, no director is attached, although he has directed films before, Blade Trinity the most notable, but a couple of horror films, kinda,
That is the biggest question to me, Pinhead himself was really not in the book at all. Chairman and CEO of Spyglass, Gary Barber said Goyer is the right story teller.

David Goyer himself said this

I am not certain, but it sounds like Gary Barber is expecting Pinhead back in the mix. It will be nice to see Pinhead back on the big screen, which a good portion of us have never seen Hellraiser, no Pinhead on the big screen. The last time we saw a Hellraiser movie, it was Judgement, which is not terrible, but not great.
This also seems to but a damper on the chances of Blumhouse getting their hands on the Hellraiser franchise.
