NJ Horror Con March 2nd – 4th 2018

NJ Horror Con March 2nd-4th 2018

Well, it’s been another great year for independent horror! Director Ryan Scott Weber gives NJ another amazing horror con this year with NJ Horror Con. Celebrities include Bob Camp ( Ren and Stimpy) Adam Green ( Hatchet series, Frozen) Danielle Harris ( Halloween 4, 5), David Naughton ( American Werewolf in London) John Russo ( Night of the Living Dead) John Dugan ( The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and of course the WWE legend Mick Foley and KISS’s Peter Criss! The Woodbridge Hotel of Woodbridge NJ was packed from fans to vendors with activities including a film festival, film awards and a punk-rock after party.

I went both Saturday and Sunday due to the terrible weather on Friday. What I saw though was a packed house full of people such as myself ready to spend money and go absolutely freakin crazy with what NJ Horror Con had to offer. Of course we had our horror con cosplayers ( there must’ve been 20 GhostBusters) including Joe Dirt(E), Father Evil and “The Stuff”. The biggest moment of the entire event was our favorite up and coming director, Mike Lombardo winning best FX and Best Film for his Christmas horror flick, I’m Dreaming of a White Doomsday. Other movies that were featured were John Russo’s My Uncle John is a Zombie, The Violence Movie 2, 10-31, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, The Flesh of the Void, and Detroit Rock City.

There was always something to do and somewhere to go at NJ Horror Con. Deadly Grounds Coffee samples were available non-stop and boy oh boy that’s a damn-good-cup-of-coffee! Rock N Horror Apparel, one of my favorite vendors, so when they’re around make sure you go grab your favorite witch accessory such as a hoodie, patched shirt, or t-shirt. I had a chance to meet one of my favorite artists Joel Robinson and picked up a Suspiria poster print. Vinegar Syndrome was there too with a selection of beautiful restore remastered release titles from the past. The vendor made me aware of their store in Connecticut which is a site for every horror movie collector to see!

NJ Horror Con was a blast! I want to thank director Ryan Scott Weber and his team for putting on another great show. Make sure you check out Ryan Scott Weber’s Pretty Fine Things, distributed by Wild Eye Releasing and now available on Amazon VOD. NJ Horror Con will return September 21rst – 23rd 2018
