Top 50 Horror Films 2010 to 2019

The decade is ending and yes, it is time for that list.  The one to figure out, which movies were the very best horror films of the last decade.  As we look to the 20s, which is still weird to think about, it is time to look back.  The last decade has seen a bunch of great horror come out of it, including the rebirth of a few older series and possibly the rebirth of the slasher.  What a great decade, it is pretty damned great to be a horror fan in this day and age.  Firstly, there are so many great movies coming out, but we can also look to the past, the 80s horror craze may be bigger than ever, even when the decade was happening.  New horror fans are discovering older movies thanks to streaming apps, especially Shudder, but Amazon Prime has a great selection as well.  I personally watched over 500 different horror movies and Amazon and Shudder played a huge part.  Let’s not forget about Shudder bringing back the late night horror drive in host.  Joe Bob Briggs is back in action on Shudder, with holiday specials and a spring time weekly show.  Joe Bob is bringing in an entirely new group of horror fans it is it wonderful.

The other wonderful thing is physical media.  Even with digital being everywhere, companies like Arrow Video, Scream Factory, Severin and so many more still have a major fan base.  Horror fans are generally collectors, like me.  So, yes, this is a great time to be a horror fan.  One last thing, Indie horror films are stronger than ever, some are joining together and getting distro from companies like Wild Eye and the very best, Scream Team Releasing.

But, lets figure this out, leaving another bad decade for horror, 2010 showed us that we cannot give up on horror.  I just think there was a, hangover after the insanely awesome 1980s.  But I think horror is back and so damned different than ever.  So, lets see what this list comes down to.  Top Top 50 Horror movies from 2010 to 2019

I have been watching horror films since I was 6 years old. The story, one Saturday night, my mom and I were watching movies and she fell asleep on the couch. We had the channel set on HBO and the movie we were watching ended and the next one, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge. This was some time in 1986. I watched then entire film, I was sitting on the edge of my seat. When my mom woke, she asked me what just ended and I told her, “Freddy”. That was all I talked about for weeks and finally she broke down and rented more horror films for me. She rented, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2, Re-Animator, Friday the 13th VI: Jason Lives and Halloween II. I watched all and fell in love with horror films forever. 5 Horror Films to Watch Inferno (1980) A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) The Beyond (1981) Friday the 13th VI: Jason Lives (1986) Horror of Dracula (1958)
